August Sneak Peek

Good morning!

Erin here with a super cute card to share this morning using a couple of new stamps that will be available on the Great Impressions Stamps website beginning August 1st: Large Stitched Flower and Stitched Flowers. The smaller flower is actually part of a larger stamp that I cut down to make stamping easier. I created the background by randomly stamping the two flower images using PTI's Aqua Mist and New Leaf ink. I stamped the sentiment, also from Great Impressions, using Ranger's Archival Black ink onto a PTI Limitless Layers Circles die cut.

(Supplies - Stamps: (Great Impressions) Large Stitched Flower, Stitched Flowers (available 8/1), Wishing You. Ink: (PTI) New Leaf, Aqua Mist. Cardstock: (PTI) Aqua Must, Hawaiian Shores. Patterned Paper: (PTI) New Leaf, Aqua Mist Patterns Packs. Dies: (PTI) Beautiful Butterflies, Limitless Layers. Other: Resin Flower, twine, gems.)

That's it for me today! Make sure to check out the Great Impressions Stamps store on August 1st to see the rest of the August release. Have a wonderful day!

Guest Designer - Lorena Sollows

Hello folks!  Lorena here from Scrapping Corner as a guest designer for Great Impressions and wow am I ever super stoked to be given this opportunity - thank you Jenny!

First a little about myself, I hail from just outside our Nation's Capital Ottawa Canada.  I am a married mother of two very active toddlers who are the source of my crafty inspiration.  A banker by day and a paper crafter by night and any other spare moment I can squeeze in.  I have been working with Great Impressions stamps for many years, as the scrapbook store that I design for, Auntie Em's Scrapbooking, carries many of the GI stamps and does the Stamp Of The Month.

Hang In There
For my first card I used the Ride Em' Cowboy (G470) stamp - and paired it with Carta Bella's Giddy Up collection - I simply love how this paper perfectly compliments this stamp.  I used a sentiment from a totally different stamp collection "Hang In There"

 Just The Two Of Us

For my second card I loved this walking away image of this couple called Forever (G451) , I can envision them walking through a meadow gazing at all the wild flowers and simply enjoying life.  I tried to keep the colours light in this as I knew I wanted to use Prima's Lyric collection for this.  The sentiment was perfect for this, again from a Stamp Of The Month from previous months.

Well folks, there you have it, I hope you enjoyed looking at my creations as much as I enjoyed making them - and I sure did enjoy making them.  If you are ever in the neighborhood stop by my blog!

Dreams of the East

I have something totally different for you today.  It something bright and beautiful and, of course, sparkly.
I used Great Impressions H174 Peacock to create this peek into India.

I began by stamping my peacock onto acrylic with Stazon and then added glitter to the back in layers to get all the colors and detail.  Can I just say I sparkle, my children sparkle, my dogs sparkly, the computer mouse now has glitter permanently embedded into it and my husband who wasn't even home now glitters.

I cut out my image and mounted it onto a a scalloped oval die cut and then went to down with some Indian themed paper.  I used old Christmas paper for the gold matting.  I love metallic wrapping paper, you can get lots of bang for your buck.

I usually choose an image that has less detail for this technique but this beautiful peacock just tempting me passed all will power.

Elephant with Kite

Hi there! Erin here with a card featuring the super cute elephant stamp called Elephant with Kite. Isn't he adorable?!? I used patterned paper from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy collection (available in the Great Impressions Stamps store) for the background & banners.

(Supplies - Stamp: (Great Impressions Stamps) Elephant with Kite. Cardstock: (PTI) White, black. Patterned Paper: (Echo Park) Bundle of Joy. Dies: (PTI) Sketched Shapes, Baby Button Bits. Other: Button, twine, gems.)

I went back and forth, trying to decide if I wanted to add a sentiment to the front of the card. I decided to leave the card as-is, and I'll write a note (and possibly stamp a sentiment) on the inside of the card when I sent it off.

I am playing along with this week's RetroSketches challenge.

That's it for me today! I hope you guys have a great week. :)

Peace

Hello friends!! Giovana here with a Christmas card! I think after having so many really HOT days, I am thinking about Christmas more and more! I love Christmas, just not much the snow and really cold temperatures, ha! we are never happy with the weather, LOL. Since I live close to the mountains, we get a lot of snow, my daughter loves it.

Anyway, back to my Christmas card, this is a very Clean and Simple one, perfect for mailing "not extra postage". I used "Dove of Peace" image, stamped it on Ivory Cardstock in Versamark Watermark ink and added Gold Embossing powder and heat set, then I die-cut, embossed and stenciled with Labels One Nestabilities.

The background was embossed with Christmas embossing folder by Stampin' Up. I matted the embossed panel with a piece of Gold Cardstock, then added the main image and pearls to opposite corners.

Hope you like it!
Have a great day!!

Simple Butterfly

Good morning! Erin here with a fun card to start off the weekend. I pulled out three Great Impressions stamps: Polka Dots, Flower Flourish, and Simple Things.

(Supplies - Stamps: (GI) Polka Dots, Flower Flourish, and Simple Things. Ink: (Stampin' Up!) Smokey Slate. Cardstock: (PTI) White. Patterned Paper: (Studio Calico) July Card Kit. Doily: Stampin' Up! Tag: (Studio Calico) July Card Kit. Button: Doodlebug. Twine: Stampin' Up! Ribbon: Papertrey Ink. Gems: Unknown. Dies: (Papertrey Ink) Sketched Shapes and Beautiful Butterfly.)

I used the polka dot stamp to decorate a basic office supply tag. I layered a die cut butterfly, gems, and banner (with sentiment) on top. The cute little button and white ribbon finish it off. For the gray flourish in the background I did some selective inking to stamp just one end of the Flower Flourish stamp, to add some interest to the pink patterned paper. More gems and green twine were added last.

That's it for me today! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Chic Shoe

This pretty little card is my Great Impressions card for the week.  I tell you what, I played with this design and played some more then just when I thought I was done, I wasn't.  For a fairly simple card, this one just kicked my tail.  Finally, I triumphed and created something I was proud to share.

I have loved this delightful little shoe stamp since I first saw it and I found it really fun to paper piece.  I ended up using four layers, the polka dot shoe, the white ribbon, some green leaves and a pretty pink rose.

The background papers are that lovely shade of aqua that is so popular right now.  I actually have most of my spring wardrobe in this color.

I picked up the same shoe stamp again on the interior of the card as well as this fun sentiment.

The stamps I used to create today's card are Great Impressions  F516 Rose Shoe and Great Impressions Stamp  D441 Changed My Life which you can find at our store HERE

Everything

Hi, friends!  I'm back with another project featuring amazing rubber stamps by Great Impressions!  Today I thought I'd break out of my card making mold and do something a little bit different.  Remember those birthday cards I made for the monthly challenge?  Well, I thought I'd make a small coordinating gift to add to the cards for my friends!

Here's what I came up with~

Stamp used: E794 A Friend

I love this sentiment and couldn't think of what image I wanted to pair it with so I let it stand alone...with just a tiny butterfly for some embellishment!  Hopefully my friends will use these bookmarks and remember how special they are to me!  What gift for a friend will you create today using Great Impressions stamps?

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a gander at my bookmarks!  Don't forget that next week is a tutorial week--it'll be Stamping With Gelatos!

Here’s what you’ll need for that technique~
See you again next Thursday for another video tutorial using these wonderful stamps!  Don't forget that we have a monthly challenge going on right now as well--it's a chance to get win of these amazing stamps so I hope you'll join us!  HUGS and happy stamping friends!

Princess

Hello friends! Giovana here today with a cute Baby Girl card!! I tried again the 3D Paper Piecing technique and kept the card pretty simple to showcase the image.
The card base is Cotton Candy (Bazzill), the background was dry embossed using Chevron Embossing folder from Stampin' Up, I inked all the edges and adhered it to card base. I die-cut a piece of Cotton Candy Cardstock using Decorative Oval Die (Spellbinders).
The Baby Girl Shoes image was stamped 3 times and colored it with Copic Markers, then I cut out little pieces to created the 3D effect. I die-cut the main image with Oval Nestabilities (Spellbinders), then added the other pieces. I stamped the Princess sentiment on White Cardstock in Memento Lady Bug Ink. Final touches are the little rhinestones in opposite corners.

Hope you like it!
Have a great day!

Wildfire Silhouette

Hello Great Impressions Stamps Friends!
Gail here from Pop Paper Scissors.  I have recently retired and now spend my days supervising my husband of 41 years and our American Bulldog, Lulu.  It’s a pretty big job but I’m getting the hang of it. I've also been cleaning cupboards and closets like a mad woman. When I'm not making another trip to the Goodwill, I spend time with the craft I love, making cards.

I am so pumped that Jenny has asked me to be a guest designer for the fabulous Great Impressions Stamps.  Wow!  It’s Christmas in July.

Great impressions Stamps has something for everyone from cute little mice to elegant flowers. For my card, I have chosen the beautiful Wildfire Silhouette.

The first thing I did was to print my computer generated sentiment.  Using my Stamp-a-ma-jug I stamped it once then again ever so softly for a shadow effect. I then added a little color with my Copics then topped it off with Stickles and a little sponging.  Using my new Spellbinders Floral Ovals, I cut it out and layered it on some pastel card stock.  The pretty butterfly die is from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I hope this beautiful stamp has inspired someone to create something wonderful.

Yours truly,
Gail

Pace of Nature

I have a very brightly colored card for you today.  It's actually out of my comfort zone of colors but, I have some new Gelatos and just had to play with them.  I specifically went with the orange and yellow palette to compliment this gorgeous Great Impressions stamp and sentiment.  Hard to believe but the stamp and the background are all made using the exact same Gelatos.

I really like how the butterfly frame and the sentiment stamp compliment each other so well.  I double stamped the image so that I could cut out the butterfly for more dimension.  I also added copious amounts of Stickles because I just love sparkle.

I also added butterflies to my die cut frames to keep with the butterfly theme of this card. The frames and corners come from two different die cut companies but I think they compliment each other very well and definitely compliment the shape of the butterfly frame.

The stamps I used for today's card are H226 Butterfly Frame  and D445 Patience.

Life's a beach

Hello friends!! Giovana here bringing you a very nice a summer post!! Who doesn't love a good time spent at the beach? I love the beach and I wish I could live closer to one! Around here we have lakes and rivers only, LOL.

Anyway, I used E761 Life's a Beach image for my card, stamped the image twice, color it with Copic Markers, then from the second image I color and cut out the banner and added to create a 3D effect.
The background was created using the colors from the image, and all of them are little pieces of scraps!! I added stitches and blue sequins. I had a cork anchor already die-cut, added twine and voila!!

Hope you like it!!
Have a fantastic day!!
